With the great weather, the Rhine flowing by at only a stonethrow away and a great view of the surroundings, the time flew by and it was time to head back to Zürich to get our flight back.
I decided to read the Watch International in the plane so I put it in the pouch behind the seat in front of me. During the flight however, we didn't stop discussing watches and other nice things in life and after about one hour fifteen, we landed on Schiphol Airport at quarter to ten. It was cloudy but it had stopped raining and a bus took us back to the Arrival hall. Here we said goodby to the other members and got the car from the parking. It was then that I realised that I had forgotten the Watch International magazine in the plane! I can only hope that it will be read and maybe this will result in new IWC fans, who knows?
The trip home by car took about fourty minutes so at about eleven o clock, I was home with my head filled with new information, images and souvenirs of a great day to Schaffhausen. It is increadible that in the current world, such things can be achieved. When IWC was founded, such a trip would probably have taken a week and probably more...
I want to thank John for inviting us and IWC for a great visit that was extremely well organized, informative and just plain fun. I also want to thank the other members of the group, we all had a great time. Erik, my colleague has got his new Cousteau Chrono 2007 model only a few weeks after the visit and I heard that another member of our group has bought a Big Pilot. I am sure others will also expand their collection while thinking about the great day we had.
Let me just finish with the great text on this door:
Every IWC has his own history.
But they all start here.
Welcome at IWC Schaffhausen.
